Babcock Liable For Nuclear Pollution Injuries, Suit Says

Law360, New York (February 7, 2013, 6:54 PM EST) -- Several western Pennsylvania residents on Tuesday hit Babcock & Wilcox Power Generation Group Inc. with a lawsuit alleging two Babcock nuclear facilities are releasing radioactive substances that have caused cancer in nearby residents.

The complaint alleges Babcock and its predecessors have negligently operated its nuclear materials processing facilities in Apollo and Parks Township, Pa., located northeast of Pittsburgh, causing illnesses like thyroid cancer, leukemia and non-Hodgkin Lymphoma, and conspired to cover up the substance releases.
