Am Law Figures Face Added Scrutiny In Post-Dewey World

Law360, New York (February 11, 2013, 7:57 PM EST) -- With Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP's cataclysm and creative accounting tactics still fresh, industry watchers say the industry's reported profits in the yearly American Lawyer rankings will meet sharper skepticism in 2013.

The Am Law rankings have "always been seen as something to gauge the financial health of a firm, but in fact it's turned out to be nothing of the kind," said Edwin Reeser, a legal consultant and a former managing partner with Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal LLP.
