DC Circ. Questions FERC Authority In $30M Gas Trader Case

Law360, Washington (February 7, 2013, 3:54 PM EST) -- A D.C. Circuit panel on Thursday expressed skepticism over Federal Energy Regulatory Commission claims that it wasn't usurping the authority of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission when it fined a former trader $30 million for allegedly manipulating the natural gas futures market, saying they couldn't see how Congress handed the energy regulator that power.
