Court Says Petition Cannot Decertify Hospital Union

Law360 (November 30, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- An appeals court sided with the National Labor Relations Board in its Friday ruling that a hospital wrongly withdrew recognition from a union representing its nurses on the basis of a petition.

Two nurses at the Highlands Regional Medical Center in Kentucky organized a committee seeking to decertify the Service Employees International Union, District 1199, as the recognized representative of the workers there in 2001.
