Venable Snags Ex-FCC Bureau Chief For Cybersecurity Team

Law360, New York (February 7, 2013, 3:19 PM EST) -- Venable LLP announced Thursday it has added a former U.S. Federal Communications Commission bureau chief and privacy law expert as a partner in its Washington, D.C., office, where he will take a leadership role in the firm’s cybersecurity initiatives.

James Arden Barnett Jr., a retired rear admiral in the U.S. Navy and former chief of the Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau for the FCC, joins the firm as a co-chairman of Venable’s telecommunications group and a partner in its cybersecurity practice.
