Judge Applies La. Law In $107M Shaw Coverage Suit

Law360, New York (February 8, 2013, 3:01 PM EST) -- A Louisiana federal judge on Thursday partially reversed his decision that Washington state law governs a $107 million coverage dispute between pipe manufacturer The Shaw Group Inc. and North American Specialty Insurance Co., finding that Louisiana law should cover some claims.

In October, U.S. District Judge James J. Brady granted Shaw's motion for partial summary judgment that argued for Washington law to apply, and rejected the arguments of NAS and Zurich American Insurance Co., another Shaw insurer, that Louisiana law should control the dispute.
