NY Bill Would Give CLE Credit For Pro Bono Veteran Work

Law360, New York (February 8, 2013, 3:11 PM EST) -- Empire State lawyers who do pro bono work for volunteer firefighters, other volunteer responders or military veterans would be able to credit the work toward their yearly continuing legal education requirements under new legislation introduced Friday in the New York State Senate.

The state bill, sponsored by Lockport Republican George D. Maziarz, would direct New York's Continuing Legal Education Board, chaired by Judge Dianne T. Renwick of the First Judicial Department of the State Supreme Court's Appellate Division, to make rules to that effect.
