US Condemns Russia’s New Ban On US Meat Imports

Law360, New York (February 11, 2013, 2:56 PM EST) -- U.S. officials on Monday blasted newly enacted Russian rules barring nearly all imports of American pork, beef and turkey over the additive ractopamine, repeating their claim that the restrictions violate World Trade Organization rules.

Just as they did when the restrictions were first announced in December, U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk and U.S. Department of Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack issued a statement condemning the measures, which formally went into effect on Monday.
