Ex-Fla. GOP Chair Pleads Guilty To Raiding Party's Coffers

Law360, Miami (February 11, 2013, 9:38 PM EST) -- Jim Greer, former chairman of the Republican Party of Florida, pled guilty Monday in state court to skimming nearly $200,000 from party donations through a shell company, averting a trial expected to feature several prominent political figures as witnesses.

Greer pled guilty to four counts of grand theft and one count of money laundering for a scheme in which he set up the company Victory Strategies LLC, hired it to handle fundraising for the Republican Party of Florida and secretly took a commission on the donations...
