Dow Chemical, API Spar Over LNG Exports In Hearing

Law360, New York (February 12, 2013, 5:42 PM EST) -- Dow Chemical Co.'s CEO urged a Senate panel Tuesday to work with regulators to restrict liquefied natural gas exports until the U.S. Department of Energy improves how it determines whether the exports serve the public interest, butting heads with the American Petroleum Institute, the oil industry's top lobby group.

Andrew Liveris told the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee to press the Energy Department to pursue a "crawl, walk, run" approach in authorizing LNG exports, saying allowing immediate unfettered exports would harm U.S. manufacturers and consumers...
