Rakoff Clears LexisNexis, Westlaw In Atty's Copyright Suit

Law360, New York (February 11, 2013, 5:31 PM EST) -- A New York federal judge on Monday dismissed an Oklahoma attorney's claims that LexisNexis and Westlaw violated federal copyright law by reselling his court briefs without permission.

U.S. District Judge Jed Rakoff granted summary judgment to Reed Elsevier Inc. and West Publishing Corp. on Edward L. White's allegation that the companies infringed his copyrighted court briefs by reposting them on their legal document services.
