Battelle Fined For Nuclear Safety Violations

Law360, New York (December 4, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Battelle Energy Alliance LLC, a group that runs a leading nuclear energy research center for the U.S. government, is being fined for violating federal nuclear safety requirements, the U.S. Department of Energy has announced.

BEA, which operates the Idaho National Laboratory, will be fined $123,750 for violations that occurred in the operation of the Neutron Radiography Reactor, used to nondestructively examine irradiated materials.
