Tri-Vision, Best Buy Settle Unusual V-Chip Suit

Law360 (September 30, 2005, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Tri-Vision International Ltd. has settled its lawsuit against Best Buy Canada over a patent for v-chip technology, bringing an end to the highly unusual court battle that began this spring.

The agreement covers brand name electronics that use the chip, including Konka, Prima, Insignia, Digistar, and Advent. Although the details of the settlement are confidential, it does include compensation for past infringement.
