$344M Coeur Bid Wins Over Orko As First Majestic Bows Out

Law360, New York (February 20, 2013, 5:37 PM EST) -- The fight for Orko Silver Corp. ended short of a bid war Tuesday when the company accepted an offer worth CA$350 million (US$344 million) from Coeur d'Alene Mines Corp. after its initial suitor, First Majestic Silver Corp., said it would not match the bid.

Coeur's bid won out after First Majestic said it would not match a cash-and-stock offer worth $2.70 per share that the Idahoan miner lobbed last week. While Coeur's bid clocked in CA$0.02 below First Majestic's proposal, its CA$0.70 cash piece far outstripped...
