Dem Grills BP On Misstatements About Macondo Oil Flow

Law360, New York (February 20, 2013, 7:10 PM EST) -- A powerful House Democrat demanded Wednesday that BP PLC turn over information detailing how it misled Congress about the amount of oil released during the Deepwater Horizon disaster, and urged regulators to bar the company from receiving federal contracts until it responds.

Rep. Ed Markey, D-Mass., called on BP CEO Robert Dudley to provide full documentation of the decisions that led company executives to lowball their estimate of the rate at which oil gushed from the Macondo well during a spring 2010 congressional inquiry.
