Skype Needn't Show Code In Euro Patent Cases

Law360, Wilmington (February 21, 2013, 10:17 PM EST) -- A Delaware federal judge on Thursday refused to compel discovery from videoconferencing giant Skype Inc., rejecting a bid by a European patent holder who hoped to use the sensitive technical information as evidence in a pair of foreign infringement cases.

Via Vadis Controlling GmbH said access to the source code and key documents behind Skype's popular Voice over Internet Protocol services would help prove the patent infringement claims it is prosecuting in Germany and Luxembourg, but U.S. District Judge Richard G.
