EU Levels Duties On US Ethanol Despite Trade Groups' Protest

Law360, New York (February 22, 2013, 5:15 PM EST) -- The European Union said Friday it would impose tariffs on U.S. ethanol imports, a move that comes days after two American trade groups blasted the EU's plan to put the trade measures in place.

The European Commission said that, starting Saturday, it would issue anti-dumping duties at a 9.5 percent margin on all bioethanol imported from the U.S. The EU decided to impose the duties Feb. 18, but announced them in Friday's official journal.
