Judge Won't Let Intervoice Off Hook In Sony Suit

Law360, New York (December 6, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Intervoice Inc. will have to field a third-party suit from Sony Electronics Inc., after a federal judge rejected the call center company's motion to dismiss itself from a patent case over interactive voice response systems.

The dispute centers around interactive voice response system software products. In 2006, a network consulting company called Phoenix Solutions Inc. notified Sony that its interactive voice response system may be covered by one or more claims of Phoenix-owned patents.
