AB InBev, DOJ Get Stay In Suit Over $20B Modelo Merger

Law360, San Diego (February 22, 2013, 10:25 PM EST) -- A District of Columbia federal judge Friday granted a stay in the U.S. Department of Justice’s challenge to Anheuser-Busch InBev NV’s proposed $20.1 billion offer for Grupo Modelo SAB de CV in light of settlement discussions among the parties.

U.S. District Judge Richard Roberts signed off on the parties’ joint motion to administratively close the case until March 19 while the government engages in settlement talks with defendants AB InBev and Modelo and intervenor defendant Constellation Brands Inc.
