The Business End Of Critical Habitat Designations

Law360, New York (February 27, 2013, 1:11 PM EST) -- On Jan. 14, 2013, the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) proposed the designation of critical habitat for Lower Columbia River (LCR) Coho salmon and Puget Sound steelhead. Such designations can result in increased scrutiny and costs to parties taking federally authorized actions in critical habitat. Parties conducting activities in these areas should consider submitting comments, which are due by April 15, 2013.
