W.R. Grace Tries To Halt Expert Testimony

Law360, New York (December 10, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- W.R. Grace & Co. is seeking to block asbestos claimants from bringing in a wide range of expert testimony, arguing that the testimony should be excluded when trying to assess the legal liability of the bankrupt chemical manufacturer to those exposed to the cancer-causing material.

On Friday, attorneys for W.R. Grace filed a motion to thwart the submission of certain expert opinions, trying to exclude any evidence that seeks to establish exposure to asbestos based on “settled-dust analysis” or “indirect-preparation method,” among other theories.
