Zumba Says Macy's Shoes Tread On Trademarks

Law360, New York (February 28, 2013, 5:55 PM EST) -- Zumba Fitness LLC filed suit against Macy's Inc. in Florida federal court Thursday alleging the department store giant has been "passing off" women's flats as official Zumba footwear when the shoes were actually made by another company.

According to the suit, filed in U.S. District Court in Florida's Southern District, Cincinnati-based Macy's has allegedly billed a style of women's black shoes with bands of black sequins across them as "Zumba Flats," even though the shoes have not been made or endorsed by Zumba.
