LA To Shutter Massive Alternative Dispute Resolution Unit

Law360, New York (March 7, 2013, 11:17 PM EST) -- The Los Angeles Superior Court announced plans Thursday to shut down the country’s largest alternative dispute resolution department in light of state budget cuts.

The court said the department, which has been providing arbitration, mediation and other legal resolution services for more than 20 years, will stop accepting referrals to cases starting March 11 and officially shut its doors on June 28.
