CDC To Probe Nanotech Worker Safety

Law360 (December 12, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health has vowed to address concerns about the safety of nanotechnology workers, calling for public comment on whether employees should be monitored for potential health risks.

“This is NIOSH opening up the debate, something they consider as being important and significant. They're beginning to engage the different stakeholder groups here,” said Andrew Maynard, chief science advisor for the Project on Emerging Nanotechnologies at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars.

NIOSH is looking for comment on their interim guidance...
