Ex-Dewey Staffers Can Move Ahead With WARN Class Action

Law360, New York (March 11, 2013, 3:27 PM EDT) -- Former Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP employees who claim they were not given proper notice of their May 2012 layoffs will officially move forward as a class action, according to a New York bankruptcy court filing Friday.

The lawsuit was filed last May claiming Dewey, which obtained court approval of its liquidation plan late last month, violated the New York state and federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Acts when it laid off about 550 employees shortly before it entered Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
