CFTC's General Counsel To Step Down This Month

Law360, Los Angeles (March 11, 2013, 5:48 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission said Monday that its general counsel Dan M. Berkovitz, who guided the commission through the passage and implementation of the Dodd-Frank Act, will leave the agency at the end of March after 30 years of service in the federal government.

Berkovitz, who has been the commission's general counsel since June 2009 and its deputy on the Financial Stability Oversight Council since 2011, advised its chairman and commissioners on financial and commodities markets legislation and regulations.
