PE Investors Eyeing Fertile Latin American Market: Survey

Law360, New York (March 12, 2013, 2:25 PM EDT) -- Despite a decrease in Latin America-focused private equity fundraising in 2012, a majority of global investors believe the region is more attractive than other emerging markets because of its stable governance and abundance of natural resources, according to a survey by Preqin Ltd. released on Tuesday.

After posting a record high of $15.2 billion on 41 fund closings in 2011, the region saw a drop-off in private equity fundraising in 2012. Just 22 Latin America-focused funds closed last year with an aggregate $5.1 billion in capital,...
