EU Suspicious Of Unapproved Merger, Raids Offices

Law360, New York (December 13, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Authorities with the European Commission and U.K. Office of Fair Trading raided offices Tuesday and Wednesday in an attempt to glean whether Hydro Polymers and INEOS Enterprises Ltd. had already gone through with their deal even though it hasn't been cleared by regulators.

Norway-based Hydro and the EC said that the authorities wanted to figure out if any irregular exchange of information between the two companies had taken place as they await the EC's approval of the acquisition.
