FTC Sues Idaho Health System Over Acquisition Of Doc Group

Law360, New York (March 12, 2013, 8:40 PM EDT) -- The Federal Trade Commission and Idaho's attorney general sued St. Luke's Health System Ltd. on Tuesday over its allegedly anti-competitive acquisition of a large physician practice group in the Boise area, saying it would lead to higher health care costs for patients.

St. Luke's purchase of the Saltzer Medical Group in Nampa, which was completed at the close of 2012, gave the health care network a 60 percent share of the market for adult primary-care physician services in the region, according to Richard Feinstein, the director...
