Pa. Sen. Pushes Genetically Engineered Food Label Bill

Law360, Philadelphia (March 12, 2013, 5:44 PM EDT) -- A Pennsylvania legislator introduced a bill Monday that would require the labeling of genetically engineered food in the state that, if enacted, would become the first law of its kind in the U.S.

Daylin Leach, D-Montgomery/Delaware, claims the legislation, Senate Bill 653, has received support from national and local organizations including food cooperatives, organic farmers, environmentalists and food justice advocates.
