Fla. House Panel Moves State Toward Insurance Compact

Law360, Miami (March 13, 2013, 9:28 PM EDT) -- The Florida House insurance and banking subcommittee passed a bill Wednesday that would enter the state into an interstate insurance compact that promises to speed up the process of providers filing and making new insurance products available to consumers.

The Interstate Insurance Product Regulation Compact, created by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners, creates uniform standards and a central filing point for asset protection insurance products, such as life insurance, annuities, disability income and long-term care insurance, according to the NAIC.
