4th Circ. Restores Georgia-Pacific Paper Towel IP Verdict

Law360, New York (March 14, 2013, 8:29 PM EDT) -- The Fourth Circuit on Thursday reinstated a jury verdict in favor of Georgia-Pacific Consumer Products LP in a suit alleging that rival von Drehle Corp. infringed a trademark related to paper towels used in electronic dispensers.

A three-judge appellate panel ruled that a lower court had incorrectly thrown out a verdict that awarded Georgia-Pacific $791,431. The suit alleged that von Drehle contributed to trademark infringement by selling lower-quality paper towels that could be used in Georgia-Pacific's enMotion electronic dispenser.
