Timex Sues USPTO Over 'Intelligent Quartz' Trademark

Law360, New York (March 18, 2013, 5:14 PM EDT) -- Timex Group USA Inc. on Friday took its fight to register "Intelligent Quartz" as a trademark for a line of watches to a Virginia federal court, arguing the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office was mistaken when it found that the phrase was a straight-ahead description of the products and did not qualify for trademark protection.
