Health Care Providers, Be Prepared For Sequester Cuts

Law360, New York (March 20, 2013, 1:02 PM EDT) -- The sequester, the package of automatic federal spending cuts that went into effect on March 1, 2013, was put in place as part of the Budget Control Act of 2011 (BCA). The BCA, also known as the debt ceiling compromise, provided for the sequester in the event that the Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction (or Congressional super committee) was unable to reach a compromise on other cuts that would reduce the federal deficit by $1.2 trillion over 10 years.
