Dems Pitch Paid Sick Leave Legislation

Law360, New York (March 20, 2013, 7:36 PM EDT) -- U.S. Sen. Tom Harkin, D-Iowa, and Rep. Rosa DeLauro, D-Conn., said Wednesday that they had reintroduced legislation that would require companies to provide paid sick leave, a measure they said would spare workers from having choose between their health and their paychecks.

The Healthy Families Act would allow workers to earn one hour of paid leave for every 30 hours worked, capped at 56 hours per calendar year, and apply to employers with 15 or more employees as well as public agencies. Workers could use that...
