Ashurst Earns Chinese Ministry Approval For Beijing Office

Law360, New York (March 20, 2013, 3:22 PM EDT) -- China's Ministry of Justice has given Ashurst LLP the green light to open a Beijing office, marking the London-based firm's latest inroad into the Chinese legal market, the firm announced Wednesday.

Ashurst's Beijing office will primarily focus on banking, finance and outbound investment work, and will be headed by banking and finance partner Patrick Phua, who joined the firm last March from King & Wood Mallesons and was hired to help grow Ashurst's China business, according to the firm.
