Senate Energy Committee Greenlights DOI Nominee

Law360, New York (March 21, 2013, 1:51 PM EDT) -- The fate of the nomination of Sally Jewell, President Barack Obama's pick for secretary of U.S. Department of the Interior, now rests with the full U.S. Senate after she was overwhelmingly approved by the Energy and Natural Resources Committee on Thursday.

The committee voted 19-3 to approve Jewell, who is the CEO of Recreational Equipment Inc., sending her nomination to the Senate floor. The only no votes came from Sens. John Barrasso, R-Wyo.; Mike Lee, R-Utah; and Tim Scott, R-S.C.
