Congress Eyes $20.5B In Nuclear Loan Guarantees
By Ben James ( December 17, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- An omnibus funding bill expected to be approved by Congress this week will contain a measure extending the Department of Energy's loan guarantee program to continue for at least two more years and authorizing the DOE to extend $38.5 billion in loan guarantees to help fund areas like nuclear energy and clean coal technology, according to the ranking member of the Senate's Energy & Natural Resources Committee....
