Mako Sues Rival Device Co. Over Robotic Surgery Patents

Law360, New York (March 22, 2013, 5:50 PM EDT) -- Device maker Mako Surgical Corp. hit a British rival with patent infringement allegations in the U.S International Trade Commission and two federal courts Tuesday, claiming the competitor is using patented technology for computerized orthopedic surgery guidance systems.

Mako accused U.K.-based Stanmore Implants Worldwide Ltd. and its American subsidiary of ripping off a total of three patents in separate complaints filed with the trade commission and federal courts in California and Massachusetts.
