EU, Japan To Tackle Free Trade Agreement

Law360, New York (March 25, 2013, 2:35 PM EDT) -- The European Union and Japan agreed Monday to launch talks on a free trade agreement, aiming to ease trade restrictions in two economies that combine for a third of global gross domestic product.

In a statement announcing the agreement, the EU said the planned “ambitious” and “comprehensive” free trade pact with Japan would create 400,000 jobs in Europe and drive up exports for both trading partners.
