Primary Health Gets $9.6M In Hudson Coverage Row

Law360, New York (March 25, 2013, 8:02 PM EDT) -- An Idaho state jury on Thursday awarded health care provider Primary Health Inc. $9.65 million for its bad faith claims in a dispute with Hudson Insurance Co. and TIG Insurance Co. over coverage for litigation with the family of a woman who died under the company's care.

The jury awarded Primary Health $2.4 million in compensatory damages and $9.7 million in punitive damages for bad faith claims it launched in response to a December 2011 suit lodged by Hudson and TIG accusing Primary Health didn't pay defense costs in excess of policy limits for a doctor in its employment who oversaw...
