UK Hits Mercedes-Benz With $4.3M In Antitrust Fines

Law360, New York (March 27, 2013, 3:52 PM EDT) -- A U.K. antitrust regulator on Wednesday slapped Daimler AG’s Mercedes-Benz UK Ltd. unit and four of its commercial vehicle dealers with £2.85 million ($4.3 million) in fines for market sharing, coordinating prices and exchanging commercially sensitive information.

The Office of Fair Trading handed down the fines to Mercedes-Benz, Ciceley Commercials Ltd., Enza Motors Ltd., Road Range Ltd. and H&L Garages Ltd., saying the companies violated competition law on various occasions between March 2007 and January 2010.
