USTR Wants ITC's Take On Impact Of US-EU Free Trade Pact

Law360, New York (March 27, 2013, 6:30 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Trade Representative on Tuesday asked the U.S. International Trade Commission to draft a report advising it of the probable economic effects of providing duty-free treatment to European Union products, as the U.S. gears up for negotiations on a trans-Atlantic free-trade pact.

Acting U.S. Trade Representative Ambassador Demetrios Marantis asked the ITC in a letter to report on the impact that duty-free EU imports would have on U.S. industries that produce like or competing products and the effect on consumers.
