Sequester Could Pinch Oil, Gas Exploration Permits, DOI Says

Law360, Washington (March 27, 2013, 6:01 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of the Interior told a Senate Commerce subcommittee on Wednesday that sequestration could cause delays in the agency's permit reviews for oil and gas exploration off the Alaskan coast, saying there could be severe resource issues in its permit oversight role stemming from the cuts.
