He serves on the editorial board of the American Bar Association's Communications Lawyer and has served as president of the Defense Counsel Section of the Media Law Resource Center and the Freedom of Information Foundation of Texas. Leatherbury has been ranked in appellate law by Chambers USA and other publications. Previously, he clerked for the late Dallas federal judge, the Honorable Robert M. Hill.
