Ex-SEC Head Schapiro Joins Bank Advisory Firm Promontory

Law360, New York (April 2, 2013, 12:18 PM EDT) -- Mary Schapiro, who stepped down as chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in December, has joined Wall Street consulting firm Promontory Financial Group as a managing director, the company announced Tuesday.

Schapiro, who led the SEC from 2009 until she was replaced by Elisse Walter on Dec. 14, will work in Promontory’s Washington office as managing director and chairman of the firm’s governance and markets practice.
