Exxon Initiates Review Of World's Largest Floating LNG Plant

Law360, New York (April 3, 2013, 3:44 PM EDT) -- ExxonMobil Corp. and BHP Billiton Ltd. have begun the environmental referral process for the world's biggest floating liquefied natural gas processing plant at its Scarborough gas field off Australia's western coast, an Exxon spokesman confirmed Wednesday.

The oil and gas giants submitted filings this week with Australia's environmental department detailing plans for an anchored processing plant — measuring 1,600 feet long by 246 feet wide — that would tap into the Scarborough field.
