FERC Proposes Rules For Natural Gas Transparency

Law360, New York (December 20, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- On Thursday, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission formally approved one rule and proposed another, both designed to increase the amount of public information on the trading and transfer of physical natural gas in the U.S.

While the approved rule centers around natural-gas traders and the proposed one focuses on natural-gas-carrying pipelines, FERC cast both as parts of a larger effort to up transparency in physical natural-gas wholesale markets.
