House Greenlights CPSC Revival Bill

Law360, New York (December 20, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Just before adjourning for the holidays, the U.S. House of Representatives unanimously signed off Wednesday on legislation that will give a much-needed shot in the arm to the faltering federal watchdog that polices consumer goods.

The 407-0 vote greenlighting the Consumer Product Safety Modernization Act came amid criticism from consumer groups who contended the bill falls short of giving the Consumer Product Safety Commission the necessary tools to protect the American public.
