Software Engineer Wins $5.8 Million Verdict Vs. Arrowhead

Law360, New York (October 13, 2003, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Software entrepreneur Martin Desmond of La Jolla, Ca. has won a $5.8 million verdict in a copyright infringement suit against the Arrowhead General Insurance Agency of San Diego, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported.

The six-member jury agreed with Desmond's complaint that Arrowhead exceeded the authorized use of his software, which he developed for the company to calculate various insurance premiums.
